Limited Edition Vintage Tennessee Red Cedar Pencil
In the late 1930s, Colonel Musgrave shipped his final export of Tennessee red cedar slats to pencil factories in Europe. Somehow, a small number of burlap sacks filled with slats didn't make it to the ship. Years later, the sacks would be discovered among the rubble of an ill-fated storage building that had collapsed.
Grown in Tennessee, milled by Colonel Musgrave and molded today in the factory he founded over 100 years ago, we believe it's time for these slats to have the opportunity to write a new chapter as Single Barrel 106.
With a #2 core, hexagonal shape, and black cap, the "106" is a nod to the most discerning pencil enthusiasts.
Buyers, take note: we've combed these ribbons as best we could, but some will arrive imperfectly perfect. What can we say other than that nearly 90 years of hanging around a pencil factory will do that to you? We think the charming imperfections make them all the more interesting.
