This pencil is truly special and quite difficult to find, even in its country of origin, Japan.
It's a Kohitsu Shosha pencil, a type of pencil that is clearly Japanese.
They are made with a 3mm diameter graphite core, which is thicker than the core of an ordinary pencil and much softer than that of an average writing pencil.
The size and smoothness of the core mimic what it's like to write with a brush, except that everything can be erased.
