The history of Viarco dates back to 1907 when the pencil factory “Faria, Cacheux & Cª” also known as Portugália was created.
In 1931 the Vieira Araújo family, in order to diversify their activity, acquired the factory and in 1936 registered the brand as Viarco.
It was not until the 1970s that the pencil factory became autonomous and was renamed Viarco - Indústria de Lápis, Lda.
