Blackwing Pencil Vol.17. The Gardening. Palomino

3.55€

Gardens have long been a place for meditative contemplation. They provide us with an escape from a world that constantly demands our attention.

Gardening has been shown to lift our spirits and reduce stress and anxiety. It provides an opportunity for new growth, a meaningful routine, and a model for nurturing other aspects of our lives. Just as there are 17 essential nutrients for healthy plant growth, there are many essential "nutrients" for a fulfilling life. Maintaining a garden allows us to care for ourselves with love, joy, and purpose.

Blackwing 17 examines the conscious practice of gardening.

The pencil features a color palette in earth tones: olive green finish, ferrule and printing in dark brown and eraser in burgundy.

It also features balanced graphite and a 10cm ruler stamped on its body that you can use to record seedling growth in your plant log.

The roots of Blackwing go back to the 1930s, when the Eberhard Faber Pencil Company first introduced the 602 model. Over the years, the pencil with the unique rectangular eraser became synonymous with quality.
Then, in 1998, after several corporate acquisitions, it was discontinued, but it wasn't forgotten. In fact, fans started paying up to $40 on eBay for a single Blackwing pencil.
In 2007, they introduced their range of Palomino pencils with genuine incense cedar and premium Japanese graphite.
Leveraging their more than 100 years of family experience in the pencil industry, they reintroduced Blackwing pencils in 2010.
In the years since its revival, Blackwing has gone from being a simple pencil to a culture.
