Blackwing's first round pencil features a matte grey finish that shows through the wood grain, a "blue collar" eraser that pays homage to Guy's favorite blue shirt, and balanced graphite perfect for songwriting.
The outlaw country movement of the 1970s had many influences, but perhaps none was more important than the legendary storyteller Guy Clark. He and his wife Susanna opened their Nashville home to generations of innovative artists over the years, giving them a space to create songs that broke down the walls built by mainstream country music.
Guy Old's debut album No. 1 is considered one of the most influential ever made. Maduro, with poetic mastery and extraordinary characters, introduced people to a new quality of composition based on authenticity and substance. Guy rejected a tried-and-tested formula of airplay and stardom in favor of writing from his mind and recording with acoustic instruments that allowed the stories to take center stage.
