Pencil made by Industrias Masats owned by the brothers Francesc and Pere Masat, located in Anglés (Gerona) who in 1933 began to use the pieces of wood left over from the toy factory where they worked and, in their kitchen, made the first pencils and colored leads.
One of its most important brands, Alpino (1943), is still being manufactured at its factory in Sant Just Desvern (Barcelona), owned by the Puig Corporation, which acquired Industrias Masats in 1998.
