Charles Eames and Ray Eames were an American husband-and-wife team of industrial designers who made significant historical contributions to the development of modern architecture and furniture through the work of the Eames Office.
They taught generations of design students how to learn through firsthand experience and inquisitive exploration. One of their favorite design tools was the iconic Blackwing pencil, which could be found in large quantities at their studio, 901 Washington in Venice, California.
