The Blackwing 725 pencil pays tribute to the Newport Folk Festival as it celebrates the 50th anniversary of the 1965 festival and its impact on music and culture.
The pencil's unique lacquer is inspired by the sunray finish of the Fender Stratocaster that fueled what Rolling Stone called one of the "50 moments that changed rock n' roll"
The most striking thing about this pencil is its finish, a continuous gradient from the unsharpened pencil tip to the black eraser, simulating the sun's rays.
When they realized that the date of Dylan's historic performance at the festival and the upcoming Saturday night showcase in 2015 was the same (25/07), Blackwing 725 was born.
