BLACKWING 811
You might be wondering, what is a Palomino Blackwing 811 doing among some books and pencils in the New York Public Library, one of the largest in the world?
The Blackwing 811 is a tribute to libraries and the hope they represent.
It is inspired by the iconic green lamps that illuminate the rooms of many libraries around the world: Each pencil is coated with a special phosphorescent top layer that allows it to be seen in the dark, and the number 811 is a reference to the poetry section of the Dewey Decimal System used to classify works in libraries.
